Podoconiosis is a geo-chemical neglected tropical disease (NTD) affecting genetically susceptible people that have prolonged barefoot exposure to red clay soil. It leads to elephantiasis or swelling of the lower legs. Podoconiosis is one of the major causes of lymphoedema in the tropics. Globally, podoconiosis has been reported in 25 countries in tropical Africa, South East Asia and Latin America, with an estimated 4 million cases.a paragraph. Ethiopia beers the huge burden with an estimated case of 2 million.
